Create A Client Install Package Symantec Endpoint For Mac
Will it be possible to remove the password through Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) console? If feasible use auto upgrade feature, assign the packages to the respective groups & upgrade will take place in the back end. Reboot is must to complete the upgrade. Select Install Packages. Click Add Client Install Package from the Tasks menu. On the Add Client Install Package dialog: Provide a descriptive name for the installation package in the Specify a name for this package text box (i.e. Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 RU5 Mac Client) Click Browse. I have a silent install of Symantec Endpoint Protection package and ready to install to several client Mac systems. I am having issues creating a script to execute the installation however. Please advise.
Create A Client Install Package Symantec Endpoint For Mac Os
I'm attempting to follow Symantec's directions for Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 for Macintosh.I can not seem to import the Mac package in SEPM 11.0.5. I'm attempting to open the *.mpkg like a client installer package, but receive an error:
Curse Client Install Package
'The path does not contain valid package building files'
It would appear that SEPM 11.0.5 does not recognize Mac packages. Do I really need to upgrade the back end to SEPM 11.0.6 in order to accommodate the Mac version? I've seen older Mac versions so I was wondering if there is a way to upload the client package that I'm just missing.
Hello,
I just wanted to share with the community that I found a straightforward method to create a Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) v. 14 package. For me, it was hard to find an article with instructions to accomplish this. I could not find anything here and this is why I am posting this. I hope that it is helpful.
1. If you are managing your SEP clients via a SEPM, export the most recent Mac version.
2. On a test Mac, extract the Symantec Endpoint Protection Installer file.
3. Double-click Symantec Endpoint Protection Installer to launch the application.
4. Click Continue in the warning message to acknowledge that a system restart is required after install.
5. In the menu, click Tools > Create remote deployment package. Type the desired name, select a folder where you want to save the file, and then click Save.
6. When the package creation completes successfully, click OK. The .PKG file will be at the previously specified location.
7. At this point, proceed to upload the new package to JAMF and create a policy to deploy it.
